Can’t get away from a kidnapper? Then change what you are doing…

by John Hall on March 18, 2010

I’m a big fan of improvising… During my school programs I ask kids if they have ever seen a fly trying to get out of a window, and they answer, “Yep. Flies keep hitting the glass over and over.”

I reply, “The fly keeps doing the same thing again and again, hoping it opens.” I then ask, “I know you guys are smarter than flies. So when something isn’t working, CHANGE WHAT you are doing.”

The same is true when protecting yourself. If you hit or kick (you know where -:) and he let’s go, great.

But if that doesn’t work and he’s moving you from the first location, then DO something different… Do you think this is exactly when the Grip, Dip & Spin™ mindset could save your child?
